Janine Brown

Janine Browne is an artist/poet and founder of The Black Dog Project. Through the mediums of locally crafted books and street art, Janine’s heart-warming art, stories and characters explore the interrelating themes of developing a strong sense of self and place; the acceptance and value of difference; and the role of imaginary friends in our lives to alleviate loneliness and isolation. You’ll find her street art throughout the Goolugatup playground and five parks throughout Melville commissioned for the Storylines Festival. These characters can be found in the books, Clunk & Jam and Wisdom of Rose - and on The Black Dog Project website.
