VHS Tracking Presents.... SERENITY (2019) with DJ Sliding Doors (aka Mia Quartermaine)

The program invites local artists to present a wide-ranging selection of art films, classics, and new wave cinema. Curated by iconic Boorloo film critic Tristan Fidler, the creator of the celebrated local VHS Tracking film zine, and hosted by Goolugatup Gallery monthly.

In this edition, DJ Sliding Doors will be presenting the film, Serenity (2019).

DJ Sliding Doors is a Boorloo-based selector who prioritises feeling over BPM; she is also a massive film buff, as her DJ name indicates. Along with Tom of Midland, she runs the music night, Pleasure Principle. In May she will debut Zipless, a party which acts as a space for slow, sensual music.

Starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, Serenity is a neo-noir mystery about a fishing boat captain lured into a murder plot by his ex-wife. A box office bomb on release, Serenity now has a growing cult audience for its sun-soaked strangeness,
