Ella van Leeuwen and Tahlia Dunne are emerging artists based in Boorloo (Perth), whose practices reinterpret themes of place, contemporary human experience, and geographical connection. During their residency at Goolugatup, Tahlia Dunne and Ella van Leeuwen aim to develop a unique process that may allow them to merge their art practices together to materially 'drift' between the translation of physical and digital place. They will investigate how mediums like painting, filmmaking, sculpture and installation may interact with ideas of tangible and technological environments, as contextualised by the contemporary use of mapping technologies for physical navigationThe Goolugatup Emerging Artist Residency (GEAR) offers an emerging artist/collective/duo a fully subsidised three-month long residency on site at Goolugatup Heathcote.
